Y&R has reworked its network development structure for 2014 with Camellia Tan assuming a newly-created role of Director of Network Development Asia for VML Asia and Liz Kim succeeding Ms Tan as Director of Network Development Y&R Advertising Asia.

Ms Tan has spent the last year building VML Asia into one of the region’s bigger pure-play digital networks. Within 18 months, VML has established eight offices in Asia Pacific with over 400 talented staff across the entire region. Tan was instrumental in the network’s most recent acquisition of IM2.0 and launch of VML IM2.0 in China. She has also brought together Y&R network resource to partner with VML on regional new business.

Her new role encompasses business development, bringing global clients to Asia and expanding strong local VML client relationships across the region. Ms Tan is looking to leverage skills and excellence across offices as well as within both VML and Y&R Advertising. Her Singapore-based role is effective immediately, reporting directly to Matthew Godfrey, President Y&R Asia and working closely with VML’s global headquarters in Kansas City.

Ms Kim’s appointment as Director of Network Development for Y&R comes as part of the company’s on-going innovation for growth strategy. Based in Singapore, reporting directly to Matthew Godfrey, her role is effective December 1, 2013. She will focus on expanding Y&R Advertising’s capabilities and strengths in the region through acquisitions, partnerships and talent development. Shopper marketing is also set to be a key area of focus for 2014.

She joins Y&R Asia’s regional team following almost four years with the network, building the Y&R Korea office and managing its key accounts, and most recently with Y&R Shanghai as Director of Client Services.

Commenting on the new structure, Mr Godfrey said, “2013 was a year of phenomenal growth for Y&R, including opening our new office in Myanmar on the occasion of the network’s 90th anniversary. VML now has over 400 staff in the region, having opened eight offices across in just 18 months, from Singapore and Sydney, to India, Indonesia, Tokyo and most recently VML IM2.0 in China. Leveraging synergies between Y&R Advertising and VML have been, and will continue to be, key to our business growth in Asia.”

“Having worked with Cam closely over the past few years during our expansion in Asia Pacific, it is clear she will excel at driving our business forward in the region. We’re thrilled to have Cam officially join VML,” added Jon Cook, VML Global CEO & President.
